Purchase of Power Generated at Bi-County Sanitary Landfill
Montgomery County, Tennessee
On April 18, 2013, TVA completed an environmental assessment (EA) and issued a finding of no significant impact (FONSI) for a proposed power purchase agreement for electricity generated at the Bi-County Sanitary Landfill.
Bi-County Gas Producers LLC proposes to construct and operate a landfill gas-fueled generator with a capacity of 1.9 megawatts at the landfill. The new generator would be installed in a previously disturbed area adjacent to the existing landfill. TVA would purchase the renewable energy generated at the landfill through its Renewable Standard Offer program. The EA evaluates the potential environmental impacts of TVA’s proposed action and the resulting construction and operation of the new generator and associated auxiliary equipment.
