Disposal of Landrights at Camp Breckinridge

Union County, Kentucky

On August 29, 2013, TVA issued an environmental assessment and finding of no significant impact for the proposed disposal of property associated with its Camp Breckinridge coal reserves near Morganfield, in Union County, Kentucky.  The property proposed for disposal consists of 1,177 acres of fee-owned land currently occupied by a coal processing facility and a barge terminal as well as 163 acres of privately-owned land where TVA owns an easement for a coal conveyor system.

TVA no longer considers these properties and landrights essential to its operations.  This surplus property and landrights would be sold at public auction under Section 31 of the TVA Act.
