TVA Retirees Association Membership Dues

WHAT

As authorized by a TVA Board of Directors resolution dated April 17, 2000, TVA will pay the cost for TVA retirees' first-year dues in the TVA Retirees Association (TVARA) for employees who began receiving a pension on or after May 1, 2000.

WHO

To be covered under this policy, employees must meet the eligibility requirements outlined in this policy.

Eligibility:

The following people are eligible for paid first-year membership dues payment in the TVA Retirees Association.

• Employees who began receiving a pension from TVA on or after May 1, 2000
• Beneficiaries who began receiving a person on or after May 1, 2000, as a result of an employee's death in service

WHY

TVA has determined that the TVA Retirees Association uses chapter meetings, a newsletter, and annual picnics to communicate with its members across the Tennessee Valley. The Association's activities and newsletter are good tools to communicate concise TVA information that is of general interest to retirees and benefits TVA.

HOW

TVA will pay first-year membership dues for eligible employees on a monthly basis. TVA Retirement Services will identify eligible individuals and authorize electronic payment on a monthly basis. The payment will be issued the following month after an individual is placed on the pension payroll. Upon authorization from Retirement Services, TVA's Accounts Payable will process and submit the electronic payment to the TVA Retirees Association. TVA Retirement Services will copy Employee Benefits on authorizations sent to Accounts Payable.

• Identify eligible individuals
• Authorize payment
• Advise employees of the TVA Retirees Association dues benefits
• Answer questions about the dues payment benefits

Employee Benefits

• Provide funding for TVARS first-year membership dues

Accounts Payable

• Process and submit electronic payment to TVARS

Retirees Association

• Notify each person to receive paid first-year membership dues and extend full membership privileges

Employee Service Center

• Answer questions about the dues payment benefit
