TVA is planning for the dedication of new solar sites at Finley Stadium in Chattanooga, Tennessee, and at the Sci-Quest Science Museum in Huntsville, Alabama, this summer. Construction at Finley Stadium is scheduled to be completed by mid-July.

Oak Ridge Electric Department, the American Museum of Science & Energy, and two groups of visiting schoolchildren joined with TVA on April 18 to “flip the switch” on four new solar arrays installed at the museum in Oak Ridge.

Powell Valley Utilities and Duffield-Pattonsville Elementary School hosted a dedication for Green Power Switch’s seventh solar-powered generation facility on April 26. Science teachers and their students donned Green Power Switch sun shades as they watched the ribbon-cutting.

Newport Utilities and Cocke County School System dedicated their solar contribution to Green Power Switch on May 23. The site overlooks the Cocke County High School soccer field, providing a unique shelter to soccer fans.

The most recent celebration took place June 9 in Bowling Green, Kentucky, with a dedication at Lovers Lane Soccer Complex. Bowling Green Municipal Utilities and Warren Rural Electric Cooperative Corporation teamed with Bowling Green Parks and Recreation, the City of Bowling Green, and the soccer complex to host the event for hundreds attending a soccer tournament.
