Jamey Sample has been named to the expanded role of director, Cyber Security, at TVA, effective Oct. 14. Sample comes to TVA from California Independent System Operator, or CAISO.

Janice McAllister, senior manager of Enterprise IT Security, retired at the end of October. CAISO is the not-for-profit public-benefit corporation that matches the demand for electricity the instant it is needed with just the right amount of megawatts. It acts as the impartial link between power plants and the utilities that provide electricity to 30 million Californians. As manager of Information Services at CAISO, Sample was responsible for enterprisewide cyber-risk management.

The energy-efficiency campaign, “Conservation Chorus” was nominated for Marketing Campaign of the Year by Platt’s, a division of the McGraw-Hill companies. The award is part of Platt’s Global Energy Awards and recognizes excellence in the energy industry. The campaign ran from June-September across the Tennessee Valley to encourage residents to use energy wisely in an effort to “conserve to preserve for future generations.”
