TVA Kingston Fly Ash Release: Environmental Studies in Progress - SETAC 2009

TVA organized a special poster session on the environmental investigations underway at the Kingston site for the annual meeting of the Society for Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry (SETAC) in New Orleans in November.

The session, “TVA Kingston Fly Ash Release: Environmental Studies in Progress,” had 13 posters presenting results of investigations by researchers from TVA, Oak Ridge National Laboratory, US Army Corps of Engineers, Arcadis, Inc., Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, Duke University, Appalachian State University, US Geological Survey, US Fish and Wildlife Service, Environmental Standards, Inc. and Restoration Services, Inc.

In addition, there was a paper by EPA summarizing clean-up efforts under CERCLA, and two posters providing an overview of the various physical, chemical, toxicological, and ecological investigations underway or planned. Several presentations were the result of cooperative efforts among several different institutions. Two of the studies presented in these posters were funded by grants from the National Science Foundation, one was funded by the US Fish and Wildlife Service, and the others were funded by TVA.

Abstracts of all 13 presentations are linked below, along with a copy of each poster.
