Kenneth R. Breeden
Executive Vice President, Performance Transition Office
Kenneth R. Breeden is TVA’s executive vice president of the Performance Transition Office. He’s responsible for TVA’s companywide effort to improve effectiveness and efficiency in order to move TVA toward its vision to be one of the nation’s leading providers of low-cost and cleaner energy by 2020. Breeden previously served as executive vice president of TVA Customer Relations.
Breeden has more than 30 years experience in the utility industry, including leadership positions with Fortune Global 500 power and telecommunications companies. His extensive experience directing major electric utility distribution operations includes serving as the chief marketing officer for two of the largest electric utilities in the United States.
Before coming to TVA, Breeden served as president of TXU Energy Services, Enterprise Division, one of the largest purchasers of wholesale electricity in Texas. He oversaw sales, marketing, delivery and operations, finance, strategic planning, regulatory affairs, supply, and administrative functions. Under his leadership, the newly created company developed into a multibillion-dollar business in five years. He joined TXU Corp. in 1995 as senior vice president of TXU Electric & Gas, responsible for marketing and sales.
Before TXU, Breeden held executive marketing and customer relations positions with Entergy Corp., an integrated energy company providing electricity to 2.6 million customers in the Midsouth.
Breeden began his career in the telecommunications industry with positions at South Central Bell and at AT&T, where he managed district operations for five years before moving into AT&T Information Systems.
Breeden holds a B.S. in business administration and an MBA from Wichita State University in Wichita, Kan.
