Kimberly S. Greene
Group President of Strategy & External Relations
Kimberly (Kim) Scheibe Greene became Group President of Strategy & External Relations in January 2010. Based at TVA’s corporate headquarters in Knoxville, she reports to TVA President & Chief Executive Officer Tom Kilgore and is responsible for Customer Relations, Environment & Technology, Strategy & Business Planning, Commercial Operations & Pricing, Government Relations and Communications.
Greene had been TVA’s Chief Financial Officer and Executive Vice President of Financial Services since 2007 and became TVA’s Chief Risk Officer in 2008. She came to TVA from Southern Company, where she was senior vice president of finance and treasurer.
Greene joined Southern Company Services in 1991 as a mechanical engineer and progressed through various areas of engineering, including fossil and hydro, combustion turbine, and nuclear design. In 1994, she moved to Southern Energy Inc., now Mirant, where she was responsible for Mirant’s south region asset management and coordination of transmission system loads with adjoining utilities, including TVA.
In 2002, Greene moved to Southern Company Generation & Energy Marketing as director of portfolio management, responsible for trading strategies and long-term resource plans. She was named treasurer of Southern Company Services in 2003.
A native of Knoxville, Greene earned a bachelor’s degree in engineering science and mechanics from the University of Tennessee (UT). She also earned a master’s degree in biomedical engineering from the University of Alabama at Birmingham and a master’s in business administration from Samford University in Birmingham.
Greene serves as a Chancellor’s Associate at UT and as a member of the Advisory Boards for the UT College of Engineering and the UT Department of Finance. She is also a member of the Tennessee Women’s Forum and Executive Women in Energy.
She has served on the Board of Directors for Energy Insurance Mutual since 2004 and serves as chair of the Audit Committee. Greene also serves as an advisor to FIRST (For the Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) – a robotics program whose mission is to inspire young people to be science and technology leaders.
She and her husband, Ted, have two daughters.
