June 6, 2005

OLIVE BRANCH, Miss. – TVA will hold an open house on Thursday, June 9, to hear public comments on a proposed new power line in the Pleasant Hill area.

The transmission line, needed to meet the rapid growth in the area, would extend approximately three to four miles from an existing TVA transmission line to Northcentral Mississippi Electric Power Association’s proposed substation in west Pleasant Hill.

TVA will present five alternative routes for the transmission line at an open house to be held from 3 -7 p.m. CDT, at the Olive Branch Office of Northcentral Mississippi Electric Power Association, 6820 Cockrum St.

Detailed maps showing alternative routes for the proposed 161-kilovolt power line will be available, and TVA staff will be on hand to answer questions, discuss potential concerns and receive comments on the proposals. Additional information and a map showing the alternative routes are available.
