TVA Draft Environmental Assessment on Sewer Line Project Available
May 27, 2005
SPRING CITY, Tenn – TVA has prepared a draft Environmental Assessment
on a proposal to discontinue use of its onsite wastewater treatment facility at Watts
Bar Nuclear Plant and contract for sanitary sewage services from the town of Spring
City, which would result in the construction of a sewer line.
The environmental assessment has three alternatives: take no action;
construct a new 7.5-mile sewer line including tie-ins to allow for future growth on a
route along State Highway 302 and the south side of State Highway 68; or build the
same sewer line on the north side of Highway 68.
TVA is interested in receiving public comment on this proposal. Comments
will be received through June 26 and can be mailed to:
Bruce L. Yeager, TVA - WT 9B, 400 West Summit Hill Dr., Knoxville, TN 37902 or
emailed to blyeager@tva.gov.
