TVA To Survey Sport Fish on Fort Loudoun Reservoir
April 21, 2014
TVA Sport Fish Survey
TVA Fisheries Biologists, local anglers and the public
7:30 a.m. EDT Wednesday, April 23
Fort Loudoun Reservoir
Carl Cowan Park boat ramp
TVA annually monitors fish in various reservoirs across the Tennessee Valley region and invites local anglers and the public to participate. The fish are collected using boat-mounted, electro-fishing equipment. The units harmlessly stun the fish for a brief time and bring them to the surface, where they are examined and evaluated by TVA biologists. Once weighed, measured and counted, the fish are released.
News media representatives will have the opportunity to ride in the boats and observe the process. Reporters and photographers should wear sneakers or other boating shoes. The event will be held rain or shine. For more information, visit: http://www.tva.com/river/fishsurvey.htm
From Interstate 140 (Pellissippi Parkway), exit Northshore Drive (Exit 5). Take Northshore Drive (State Route 332) west about 1 mile to Carl Cowan Park on the left.
