TVA To Hold Open House on Proposed Greenwood Area Power LineAugust 23, 2005 BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – TVA will hold an open house on Thursday, Aug. 25, to hear public comments on a proposed new power line to serve the Greenwood area. The transmission line would extend six to eight miles from an existing TVA transmission line to the Bowling Green Municipal Utilities’ proposed substation site off Cave Mill Road. The line is needed to meet growth in the area, which averages 2-4 percent a year. TVA will present alternative routes for the line at the open house to be held from 3-7 p.m. CDT at TVA’s Bowling Green Customer Service Center, 6045 Russellville Road. Detailed maps showing alternative routes for the proposed 161-kilovolt power line will be available, and TVA staff will be on hand to answer questions, discuss potential concerns and receive comments on the proposals.
