Federal Employees Assist 31 Agencies During CFC Day of Caring
September 15, 2005
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. - More than 380 federal employees are scheduled to
work at 31 area agencies Friday, Sept. 16, during the Greater Chattanooga Area
Combined Federal Campaign’s 11th annual Day of Caring.
“By volunteering on the annual day of caring, federal employees can see firsthand
how their contributions to CFC can help agencies assist those in need and make
our community a better place,” said Tim Ponseti, general manager of Resource Planning
& Forecasting for TVA and chairman of the 2005 Greater Chattanooga Area Combined
Federal Campaign. “The generous spirit of federal employees is exhibited throughout
the year, but particularly during the CFC Day of Caring.”
Employees from TVA will participate and provide hands-on assistance – such as
painting, building, cleaning, landscaping and cooking – to agencies that receive
contributions from the CFC. U. S. Postal Service employees volunteered at various
agencies on Saturday, Sept. 10.
The CFC is held annually to give federal employees an opportunity to contribute
to charitable, health and human services organizations in 20 counties in Tennessee,
Georgia and Alabama.
TVA is the nation’s largest public power provider and is completely self-financed.
TVA provides power to large industries and 158 power distributors that serve
approximately 8.6 million consumers in seven southeastern states.
