September 9, 2005

TUPELO, Miss. – TVA has donated $1,150 to Junior Achievement of Northeast Mississippi, a local organization dedicated to educating K-12 students about business, economics and free enterprise.

“We are very appreciative of TVA’s donation,” said Junior Achievement Board President Len Grace. “This will allow us to continue our mission of educating students on the importance of business and entrepreneurship.”

“TVA and the local distributors of TVA power are pleased to support the local community and strengthen our partnership with Junior Achievement," said TVA Customer Service General Manager Terry Kemp. “Partnering with Junior Achievement allows TVA to help students in the area gain a better understanding of the free enterprise system and use their knowledge for future success.”

TVA corporate contributions are made to not-for-profit organizations, with special emphasis on education, economic development and civic/business partnerships that further enhance TVA’s mission of service.

TVA is the nation’s largest public power provider and is completely self-financed. TVA provides power to large industries and 158 power distributors that serve approximately 8.6 million consumers in seven southeastern states.
