Ron Loving, TVA’s senior vice president of outage planning and
execution, has been named chair of the 2003 Greater Chattanooga Area
Combined Federal Campaign, held annually to give federal employees an
opportunity to contribute to charitable, health and human service organizations.
This
year’s CFC kickoff will be September 9, with federal agencies
completing their campaigns in November. As chairman, Loving will oversee
the 20-county Greater Chattanooga CFC spanning across East Tennessee
and parts of Alabama and Georgia. The 2003 campaign theme is “Caring
for Communities.”
“Chattanooga area federal employees are very generous givers who care deeply
about the communities in which they live and work,” said Loving. “They
know that their gift to CFC is a contribution that can be felt by others for
years to come.”
Loving
will be assisted with the campaign by other federal agencies in the
Chattanooga area. Federal employees who will work with Loving include George
Cupp, Internal
Revenue Service-Chattanooga; Jane Baxter, U.S. Postal Service; and Tanya
Adams, TVA. Also assisting with the campaign will be Dennis McCloud of
TVA, who serves
as chairman of the Greater Chattanooga CFC Board, and Sharon Moore of the
U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Forest Service, who is vice chairman
of the Greater Chattanooga CFC Board.
The
2002 Chattanooga Area CFC raised more than $1.5 million for local and
national charitable agencies—its highest amount ever, increasing
total gifts since 1987 to more than $19.5 million. Chattanooga area federal
employees also have
been honored several times in recent years for having the highest average
gift per person for campaigns raising $1 million to $2 million worldwide.
Funds
raised through 365 campaigns conducted nationwide support more than
1,600 local, national and international charitable agencies.
