Knoxville-Area TVA Employees Exceed CFC Goal

Dec. 19, 2003

Knoxville-area TVA employees contributed more than $535,200 to the 2003 Smoky Mountain Region Combined Federal Campaign to raise money for charitable agencies, exceeding their goal by more than $85,200.

“TVA raised its highest amount ever this year,” said TVA Executive Vice President of Administration LeAnne Stribley, who served as chair of the TVA campaign. “I thank Knoxville-area TVA employees for the difference they have made in the lives of thousands of people who need a little help along the way.”

The CFC is held annually to give federal employees an opportunity to contribute to charitable, health, and human services organizations.

TVA CFC co-chairs were Carolyn Bradley, acting vice president of internal communications; Gloria Bright, executive management assistant; Elizabeth Moore, financial analyst; and Rose Sexton, manager of TVA Police business services. Knoxville-area TVA employees include those who work in Knoxville, Norris, and at Bull Run, John Sevier and Kingston fossil plants.

Since 1995, the Knoxville-area TVA CFC has raised more than $4 million. The Smoky Mountain region includes federal employees in 22 counties in East Tennessee, two counties in North Carolina, one county in Kentucky and one county in Virginia.

TVA is the nation’s largest public power producer and is completely self-financed. TVA provides power to large industries and 158 power distributors that serve 8.3 million consumers in seven southeastern states.
