Jason McNeel Joins TVA Economic Development Staff

TUPELO, Miss. – Jason McNeel, formerly with W.G. Yates & Sons Construction Co., has joined TVA’s Economic Development staff as a field specialist in the Mississippi district.
McNeel will work with distributors of TVA power, the Mississippi Development Authority and local economic development organizations, assisting prospective new or expanding industries and encouraging industries to locate or expand in the region.
His responsibilities include working with prospective loan candidates, assisting in the development of loan applications, screening loans, and providing technical assistance to prospective companies. He will also promote small business growth and community development services.
In fiscal year 2003, TVA worked in partnership with various economic development organizations and partners to help attract or retain 47,000 jobs and leverage $1.54 billion in capital investment. TVA also provided more than $20.6 million in economic development loans.
TVA is the nation’s largest public power provider and is completely self-financed. TVA provides power to large industries and 158 power distributors that serve 8.3 million consumers in seven southeastern states.
