Tim Weston Joins TVA Economic Development Staff

TUPELO, Miss. – Tim Weston, former executive director
of the Itawamba County Development Council, has joined TVA’s Economic
Development staff as a field specialist in the Mississippi district.
Weston will work with distributors of TVA power, the Mississippi
Development Authority, and local economic development organizations in
assisting prospective
new or expanding industries and encouraging industries to locate or
expand in the region.
His responsibilities include working with prospective
loan candidates, assisting in the development of loan applications, screening
loans, and
providing technical assistance to prospective companies. He will also
promote small business growth and community development services.
As executive director of the Itawamba County Development
Council and director of Port Itawamba, Weston’s responsibilities
included economic and community development in Itawamba County and management
of the port.
He led ICDC for seven years.

expertise join our economic development team,” said TVA Senior
Vice President of Economic Development John Bradley. “His talents
will serve TVA and the region well as we continue to develop new businesses
and expand
existing ones in TVA’s Mississippi region.”
In fiscal year 2003, TVA and its regional strategic partners
helped companies attract or retain more than 47,000 jobs and TVA provided
more than $20.6
million in economic development loans.
TVA is the nation’s largest public power provider and is completely
self-financed. TVA provides power to large industries and 158 power distributors
that serve 8.3 million consumers in seven southeastern states.
