TVA Campgrounds Closing for 2004 Season

Ten seasonal TVA campgrounds on reservoirs throughout the Tennessee Valley will close Nov. 1.

The campgrounds will reopen next spring for the 2005 camping season. TVA’s dayuse recreation areas will remain open throughout the winter.

Campgrounds closing on Nov. 1 are:

  • Cherokee Reservoir - Cherokee Dam
  • Douglas Reservoir - Douglas Dam Headwater and Tailwater
  • Foster Falls
  • Melton Hill Reservoir - Melton Hill Dam
  • Norris Reservoir - Loyston Point
  • Pickwick Reservoir - Pickwick Dam Tailwater
  • Watauga Reservoir - Watauga Dam Tailwater
  • Wheeler Reservoir - Mallard Creek
  • Wilson Reservoir - Wilson Dam Rockpile

TVA’s Barton Springs campground on Normandy Reservoir closed for the season on Oct. 11.
