TVA Donates $5,000 to Chattanooga State Technical Community College

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. – TVA has donated $5,000 to Chattanooga State
Technical Community College to help strengthen the quality of technical
education at the college. Sequoyah Nuclear Plant Site Manager Randy Douet
presented the check to the college on Tuesday, December 7.
CSTCC plans to use the money to purchase computer software that will
help enhance mathematics teaching and allow students in industrial maintenance
programs to engage in online engineering technology courses.
“TVA is glad to be able to support the local community and strengthen our
partnership with Chattanooga State Community College," said Douet. "We are
donating funds for the purchase of software that will enable students to
adequately prepare for future career opportunities.”
TVA recruits from local colleges, including CSTCC, for its craft and
apprentice programs.
TVA’s Corporate Contributions supports public education programs that
emphasize learning activities associated with energy and environmental
education as well as vocational and technical education in skill areas that are
vital to TVA’s workforce. TVA supports institutions that educate and train
individuals with skills that TVA and industries locating in the region will need in
the future.
TVA is the nation’s largest public power provider and is completely self-financed. TVA provides power to large industries and 158 power distributors that serve
approximately 8.5 million consumers in seven southeastern states.
