BRIDGEPORT, Ala. – To improve power reliability to area industries, TVA plans to improve its transmission system in the Bridgeport area and is seeking public input on the improvements, beginning with an open house Thursday, Nov 16.

Proposed improvements include a new, five-mile 161-kilovolt transmission line. The line will extend from TVA’s Widows Creek Fossil-Winchester transmission line about four miles west of Bridgeport eastward to the industrial area northeast of Bridgeport.

TVA will present project alternatives at an open house to be held from 3 -7 p.m. CST at the North Alabama Electric Cooperative office, 41103 U.S. Highway 72, in Stevenson.

Detailed maps showing the proposed location of alternative routes for the power line will be available, and TVA staff will be on hand to answer questions, discuss potential concerns and receive comments on the proposals. A map is available.
