Watts Bar Nuclear Plant
Watts Bar, TVA’s third nuclear power plant, is located on 1,700 acres beside Chickamauga Reservoir in Spring City, Tennessee. It is named for a bar at Watts Island that blocked navigation in the Tennessee River channel before it was flooded by Watts Bar Reservoir.
The plant consists of one Westinghouse pressurized-water reactor that can produce enough electricity to supply about 650,000 homes a day.
