Proposed Action

Harbor Limit Expansion

Location

Kentucky Reservoir, Henry County, Springville, Tennessee

Description

TVA is considering a request from Pleasant View Resort, LLC, to expand its existing harbor limits for the addition of facilities known as Redneck Island.  Pleasant View Resort is located on Kentucky Reservoir in Springville, Tennessee within Henry County.  TVA is seeking public comment as part of the environmental review process.

The Resort seeks to provide additional recreation opportunities by including Redneck Island within its harbor limits.  Redneck Island is a water-based recreation facility comprised of a floating store, swim deck and water sport play equipment.  The proposed new harbor limits would extend 100 feet to the west, and 250 feet lakeward, of the existing slips.  The store, swim deck, and the water sport play equipment would be contained within a floating buoy line at the western edge of the harbor limits.  A minor expansion of an existing gravel parking area on the TVA property is also being proposed to accommodate additional visitors.

TVA is interested in receiving comments regarding the action’s potential to affect the environment or historic properties, and to identify other issues associated with this request.  The comments will be considered in reaching a decision concerning the proposed action.  Any comments received, including names and addresses, will become part of the administrative record and will be available for public inspection.  All written comments on this proposed action must be received on or before June 2, 2012.  Written comments may be mailed to the address below or e-mailed to nbmorris@tva.gov.  For additional information, please contact:
