Part of Melton Hill Campground already closed for improvements

TVA closed a portion of the Melton Hill Campground on Monday, Oct. 23, to begin improvements to the area and its facilities.

Improvements include the installation of water and electrical hookups and construction of universally accessible campsites. Sewer service, a septic system, a group camping area, and a vending machine area also will be added.

Campsites 1-10, located on the front loop, will be closed during the upgrade project. The remaining sites at the campground will remain open until the scheduled seasonal closing of all TVA campgrounds Nov. 13.

The improvement project is expected to take about a year to complete.
