John Wilbanks

John Wilbanks is director of the Pigeon Forge Parks and Recreation Department and was previously the executive director of the Alcoa-Maryville-Blount County Recreation and Parks Commission.

Wilbanks serves as chairman of the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation Commissioner’s Council on Greenways and Trails. He received the Four Star Volunteer Service Award for his work to strengthen the greenways and trails movement in Tennessee. He has made significant contributions to the development of the Tennessee Greenways and Trails Plan and the 2003-2008 Tennessee State Recreation Plan.

Wilbanks holds a BS degree in recreation from West Virginia University and an MS degree in parks and recreation administration from the University of Kentucky.
