Professional Certification and Licenses

TVA enthusiastically supports the professional certification of many of its employees. Certification fosters a corporate culture geared to professionalism and continuous improvement.

Company-wide Learning Teams, such as those in engineering, human resources, and clerical and administrative areas, encourage employees to attain professional certification. The teams also help identify and meet the training needs of workers in those areas.

In addition, TVA encourages professionalism through the awarding of Continuing Education Units (CEUs), credits that employees earn for taking TVA training courses. Several thousand TVA employees use this opportunity for continuing education to maintain their professional certificates or licenses.

Tennessee Technological University reviews TVA training courses to certify that they meet the accreditation requirements for CEUs established by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.
