Alice Perry

Alice Perry is the senior policy advisor to Mississippi Governor Phil Bryant. She has more than twenty-five years of experience in environmental policy and management in both local and state government as well as in the corporate and nonprofit sectors. Her responsibilities as senior policy advisor include advising the governor on issues related to the environment, natural resources, energy and transportation.

Prior to joining the governor’s staff, she was the deputy director for the Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality where she served as policy advisor to the agency’s executive director and as the agency’s liaison with local, state and federal officials. In 2013 she was selected by the Gulf Coast Ecosystem Restoration Council to be the manager of the three-member writing team for the Initial Comprehensive Plan as required by the RESTORE Act, federal legislation passed to direct BP oil spill fines to the five affected gulf states.

Perry earned B.A. and Master of Social Studies degrees from Mississippi State University with an emphasis on state and local government and minors in history and economics.
