Wayne Davis

Wayne Davis of Knoxville, Tennessee, is dean of engineering in the College of Engineering at the University of Tennessee (UT). In this capacity, he represents the interests of the faculty and departments in areas of environmental research, energy research, mechanical engineering, nuclear engineering and alternative energy sources. Prior to this position, he served as associate dean for research and technology at UT and has extensive experience in civil and environmental engineering with a specialty focus on air quality management and air pollution control. Davis has more than 42 years experience conducting research and teaching in these and other energy-related areas.
Davis holds an A.B. in physics from Pfeiffer University, a M.S. in physics from Clemson University, and a M.S. in environmental engineering and a Ph.D. in civil engineering from the University of Tennessee.
