Siren Testing at Gallatin Fossil Plant

September 13, 2016

GALLATIN, Tenn. — The Tennessee Valley Authority will be testing a new emergency notification system at Gallatin Fossil Plant. During the two week period, between Sept. 19 and Sept. 28, the public may hear sirens and announcements over the plant speaker system.

The public should be aware that some of the sirens and announcements may be heard beyond the plant boundaries. Any such alerts can be ignored during this testing period.

Once the new system is activated, it will be tested during short periods during daylight hours once a month. These tests may also be heard beyond plant boundaries.

This new emergency notification system is part of TVA’s commitment to protect the safety of our workers and the public.
