TVA Board of Directors Schedules Listening Session Pilot and Meeting in Tupelo

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. The TVA Board of Directors will be returning to the “First TVA City” – Tupelo, Mississippi – on Tuesday and Wednesday, Nov. 13 and 14, 2018, for the initial pilot of a new listening session format and its quarterly business meeting. Tupelo was the first municipality to sign a power service contract with TVA only one year after its creation in 1933.

The board will hold a pilot of a new, less formal public listening session on Tuesday, Nov. 13, at 2:30 p.m. CT in the Mimosa/Oak room at the BancorpSouth Conference Center, 387 East Main Street in Tupelo. Based on previous public input, the board moved the listening session to the day before its formal meeting to allow directors additional time to consider the valuable input and opinions offered by the public before making decisions.

During the listening session, the public may comment on any agenda item or subject. Registration of speakers at the public listening session is required through the board’s webpage at https://www.tva.com/board no later than 5 p.m. ET on Monday, Nov. 12.
