Bob Deacy

Senior Vice President, Clinch River Nuclear Project

Bob Deacy is senior vice president of the Clinch River Nuclear Project, TVA’s strategic initiative to explore the viability of deploying a small modular reactor at the Clinch River Nuclear Site in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. In this capacity, Bob has led TVA’s strategic and project efforts to develop a U.S. first-of-a-kind BWRX-300 SMR at the Clinch River site.

Deacy’s previous role was senior vice president of Generation Projects & Fleet Services. In that role, he led a diverse and dynamic team that is responsible for executing major construction and demolition projects, maintaining TVA’s buildings and properties portfolio, and providing technical services that support daily plant operations, outages and environmental operations and policy programs. He also served as chair of TVA’s Project Review Board, ensuring that all TVA organizations were developed and executed projects in alignment with project management principles.

Prior to joining TVA, Deacy served as an executive in an oil and gas exploration company. Deacy joined TVA in 2007, bringing more than 30 years of experience and knowledge in the energy industry, including a combined 20 years of nuclear experience in operations and maintenance, and regulatory affairs. He has a proven track record of successfully leading large-scale projects and plant operations, communicating a clear vision and strategy, and building strong teams and relationships. Over the past 12 years, Deacy has been responsible for overseeing the execution of more than $10 billion in capital and O&M projects.

Deacy is an avid proponent of continuous improvement, mentoring and developing employees, and fostering a culture that values engagement, trust and diversity. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts. In addition to his formal education, he has a Certificate of Executive Education Development from Duke University and various certificates from his time in nuclear power plant operations.
