Carol Eimers

Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer

Carol Eimers currently serves as TVA’s vice president and Chief Human Resources Officer. In this role, she is responsible for providing strategic leadership for the hiring, onboarding, training, compensation and benefits, performance management, culture and other people-related functions to ensure alignment with overall company strategic objectives. Since April 2024, she has worked alongside a team of leaders from across the enterprise to redesign a simple, customer-centric HR service delivery model that executes core HR functions efficiently, effectively and consistently. 

Eimers joined TVA in 2001 and has held a number of leadership positions over the years, including senior manager of Valley Relations, interim general manager of River Operations’ Engineering Support Services, general manager of the $1.2B Kingston Recovery Project, general manager of TVA’s coal combustion residual program, and regional executive, where she was responsible for directing TVA’s engagement with 39 local power companies and eight direct serve customers, as well as leading all Government and Community Relations activities, engagements, and corporate contributions for the east region. 

Eimers began her professional career in Washington, D.C., as a legislative correspondent in both the U.S. House and Senate and later as a staff assistant at the American Nuclear Energy Council. In 1994, she moved to Tennessee to serve as deputy finance director for Fred Thompson’s two successful U.S. Senate campaigns. In 1996, she was recruited by the chairman of the Tennessee Regulatory Authority to serve as senior policy advisor. In 1997, she became the special assistant to the commissioner of the Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development, serving as the liaison between the commissioner’s office, the Governor’s office, state legislature and business leaders. 

Eimers resides in Chattanooga and serves on the boards of Chambliss, Chatt 2.0, Thrive Regional Partnership and Co.Lab, and is a member of the Downtown Rotary. Outside of work, she enjoys hiking, cooking, watching college basketball and spending time with family and friends.
