BrightRidge serves Washington and parts of Sullivan, Carter and Greene counties in upper East Tennessee. Incorporated in 1945 as Johnson City Power Board, the company today has more than 78,000 business and residential electric customers and maintains more than 2,000 miles of transmission line. They have started offering broadband services to some of their customers in a phased approach.
