Nashville Electric Service is one of the 12 largest public electric utilities in the nation, distributing energy to over 380,000 customers in Middle Tennessee, including Davidson County as well as parts of Sumner, Rutherford, Robertson, Williamson, Wilson and Cheatham counties. Incorporated in 1939, the company today has more than 374,000 business and residential customers and maintains more than 5,750 miles of transmission line. NES partners with TVA to offer its customers energy efficiency programs such as Residential Services.
