Brown Swiss Solar Farm

Greene County, Tennessee

TVA requests your comments on its draft Environmental Assessment of proposed power purchase agreements with a solar generating facility in Greene County, Tennessee.  Please submit your comments by February 15, 2016.

TVA has tentatively approved agreements to purchase the electricity generated by Birdseye Renewable Energy’s proposed 20-megawatt Brown Swiss solar farm for up to 20 years, pending the outcome of the assessment. The photovoltaic solar generating facility, currently scheduled for completion in late 2016, would consist of two adjacent 10-megawatt facilities occupying about 130 acres near Chuckey Pike about 8 miles east of Greeneville. The facility would tie into an existing nearby TVA transmission line. The draft Environmental Assessment evaluates the anticipated environmental impacts of the construction and operation of the solar generating facility and associated electrical connection.
