TVA Brings STEM Learning to Sharpe Elementary

TVA is proud to partner with Shelby County Schools to bring STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) learning to interested students, who stay after classes to do projects and experiments that encourage curious minds.

“We’re talking to the future engineers of — possibly — TVA,” says Samuel E. Caviness II, a power utilization engineer who volunteers to work with the kids.

Jonathan Poulder, a TVA engineer, loves the energy the kids bring to every project. “To see them get excited about learning…that was really cool,” he says. “It’s really a special thing for me. I’m passionate about science, and I want other people to be passionate about science.”
