TVA Named a Most Loved Workplace by Newsweek

TVA has been recognized by Newsweek as one of the Top 100 Most Loved Workplaces in America for 2021.

According to Newsweek, the list  aims to measure employees’ feelings toward their employer, with companies meeting the criteria of collaboration and teamwork, good citizenry and overcoming obstacles.

“This recognition affirms our mission to transform our culture and put people at the center of all we do,” said Sue Collins, EVP and Chief People & Communications Officer for TVA. “We are committed to creating an environment where everyone is included, respected and welcomed, and where we all can thrive. Most importantly, it reflects on the high engagement of our employees, who are the strength of TVA.”

TVA is ranked at 69 on the list, which features well-established brands such as Dell and IBM, alongside tech companies like Spotify, Twitter and Instacart. Others on the list include Hasbro, Mattel, Patagonia, and Kellogg’s. TVA is the only utility company recognized.

Working in consultation with Newsweek, the Best Practices Institute surveyed 800,000 employees and several hundred company executives as part of its process. This year, the criteria included how companies responded to the pandemic, including return-to-office rules; workplace diversity, equity and inclusion; and compensation and benefits policies and practices.
