ROGERSVILLE, Ala. — The Tennessee Valley Authority will be conducting a series of routine bridge inspections on the Alabama State Highway 101 bridge crossing Wheeler Dam near Rogersville beginning on Tuesday, May 30.

For the safety of the inspection team and motorists, the northbound lane of Highway 101 crossing the bridge will be closed from approx. 8:45 a.m. until 3:45 p.m. CDT each day.  Law enforcement personnel will be directing traffic during these periods, but drivers should expect delays and may wish to seek an alternate route.

Bridge inspections are a necessary part of ensuring the continued safe operation of these vital structures.  While they are weather-dependent, the Wheeler Dam bridge inspections should be complete by Friday, June 2.
