CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — The Tennessee Valley Authority will be conducting road maintenance and inspection work at the Chickamauga bridge and Raccoon Mountain intake bridge this August. TVA encourages all motorists to use caution in the construction zone and follow flagmen or traffic lights as appropriate. 

Work Locations:

• Chickamauga Dam Bridge (Thrasher Bridge/U.S. 153), Hamilton County, Tenn. — One lane traffic each way from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily, August 6 through 10.
• Raccoon Mountain Intake/Discharge Bridge (Raccoon Mountain Road), Marion County, Tenn. — One lane traffic from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily, August 16 through 17.

Public safety is TVA’s top priority. As a result, TVA performs regular maintenance and repair through projects like this to ensure the safe operations of its dams and roadways — which have resulted in TVA’s bridge condition ratings exceeding the national average.

TVA appreciates the public’s understanding. In the event of inclement weather, the work may be extended or rescheduled.
