TVA Board of Directors to Host Public Listening Session and Meeting in Martin, Tenn.

MARTIN, Tenn. – The Tennessee Valley Authority Board of Directors invites the public to join them as they gather input and conduct their quarterly business meeting on Aug. 31 at the  University of Tennessee at Martin, Russell Duncan Ballroom (Room 224), 11 Wayne Fisher Drive, Martin, Tenn.

TVA’s top priority is the health and safety of its employees and our communities. The  agency continues to monitor the ongoing impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic. At this time, no specific pandemic-related capacity restrictions or safety protocols will be required for those  attending the events in person.

Board members will participate in a public listening session on Tuesday, Aug. 30, from  2 p.m. until 4 p.m. CT at the Russell Duncan Ballroom (Room 224). Individuals may participate in the listening session by either registering to speak in person or submitting written comments in  advance. Registration of speakers and submission of written comments must be made through the Board’s webpage at www.tva.com/board no later than noon ET on Monday, Aug. 28.  Individuals without computer access may also register to speak or arrange to submit written comments by contacting Wilson Taylor, TVA’s ombudsman, at 865-776-7015.

The Board’s quarterly business meeting will begin at 9:00 a.m. CT on Wednesday, Aug.  31. The meeting can be viewed live from the Board’s webpage at www.tva.com/board. The link will be available a few minutes prior to the start of the meeting.

Directors will consider the following agenda items:

  1. Approval of minutes of the May 11, 2022, Board Meeting
  2. Report of the Operations and Nuclear Oversight Committee
    1. BFN Subsequent License Renewal Application - Request for Delegation
  3. Report of the Audit, Finance, Risk, and Cybersecurity Committee
    1. Expanded Flexibility Option
    2. FY23 External Auditor Selection
  4. Report of the External Stakeholders and Regulation Committee
  5. Report of the People and Governance Committee
  6. Report from President and CEO
  7. Information Item
    1. FY23 Budget and related matters

Given the evolving nature of the COVID-19 pandemic, those feeling ill should not attend but can still participate by submitting written comments for the Board’s consideration during the public listening session or watching the live web stream of the Board meeting.
