TVA Invites Public to Memphis Open House on Vegetation Management Alternatives
MEMPHIS, Tenn. — The Tennessee Valley Authority is inviting the public to attend an open house in Memphis and provide comment on alternatives for how it will manage vegetation along its 16,000 miles of transmission lines to continue to ensure public safety and reliable electric power.
TVA has prepared a draft Programmatic Environmental Impact Statement that outlines four alternatives for guiding vegetation management in its transmission rights-of-way.
The draft EIS can be viewed online at TVA’s website at www.tva.com. The public comment period extends from Aug. 13 through Oct. 1, 2018.
The Memphis open house will be held on Thursday, Sept. 13 at the Memphis Light, Gas & Water Training Facility, 4949 Raleigh LaGrange Road in Memphis.
TVA team members will be available to better explain the four alternatives being considered.
Comments on the plan can be submitted in writing to Anita E. Masters, NEPA Compliance Project Manager, 1101 Market Street, BR 4A, Chattanooga, TN 37402 or [email protected]; online at the link provided below, or in person at the open house, but must be received by the end of the comment period, Oct. 1, 2018. Please note that any comments received, including names and addresses, will become part of the project administrative record and will be available for public inspection.
