STEVENSON, Ala. — The Tennessee Valley Authority has issued a river traffic caution during transmission line work on the Widows Creek-Rock Springs 230-kilovolt transmission line where it crosses the Tennessee River at TVA’s Widows Creek plant site (River Mile 408).

On Tuesday, Nov. 7, TVA transmission crews will be replacing a wire over the river. Work will be from 7 a.m. CST until the job is completed.

The work is part of a project to upgrade the entire 35-mile line to improve communications on the TVA system, which ensures reliable power to the area.

Watercraft operators should avoid the area or take extra precautions. Everyone in the area should heed warnings of the safety patrol boats and personnel that will be on patrol in the area. Marine channels 13, 16 and 81 will be monitored by the safety boats.
