KNOXVILLE, Tenn. - The Tennessee Valley Authority is issuing a river traffic caution advisory during transmission line work near Rock Island State Park.
On Monday, April 25, TVA transmission line construction crews will be removing a section of power line that crosses the Caney Fork River. Work is scheduled to begin around 9 a.m. CDT and should take about three hours to complete.
During this time, recreational kayakers and canoers should avoid the section of the river between the Beach Road. Boat Ramp and Great Falls Dam.
TVA personnel and state park rangers will be monitoring various access trails and the shoreline to help the public avoid the work zone. Notices will also be posted at boat ramps and on social media regarding the closure.
