TELLICO, Tenn. — The Tennessee Valley Authority has issued a river traffic caution during transmission line work on the Fort Loudoun-Athens 161-kilovolt transmission line where it crosses Tellico Lake about 5 miles south of Tellico Dam at Little Tennessee River mile 5.8.
Crews will be working on the transmission line beginning 7 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 5, and work until the job is completed. Slack will be taken out to raise the line as a safety improvement to provide additional clearance below it.
Watercraft operators should avoid the area or take extra precautions. Everyone in the area should heed warnings of the safety patrol boats and personnel that will be on patrol in the area. Marine channels 13, 16 and 81 will be monitored by the safety boats.
