TIPTONVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee Valley Authority is asking for public input on the draft Environmental Assessment for the Ridgely Solar Project in Lake County, Tennessee. Details of the review are available in a draft Environmental Assessment here.
TVA has entered into a 20-year power purchase agreement with Ridgely Energy Farm LLC to buy energy generated by the proposed Ridgely Solar Project. Ridgely Solar would construct and operate the proposed solar facility.
The draft EA includes two alternatives: a No Action Alternative and an Action Alternative.
Under the No Action Alternative, TVA would not purchase the power generated by the project under the PPA with Ridgely Solar and TVA would not be involved with the project.
Under the Action Alternative, Ridgely Solar would acquire about 2,344 acres of land in Lake County for a single-axis tracking photovoltaic solar farm that could generate 300 megawatts of energy. TVA will buy 177 megawatts under the terms of the PPA.
