TVA to Host Open House Regarding Parrot Feather in Lake Chatuge Reservoir

TVA, the Georgia Department of Natural Resources and North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality will be available to meet with citizens who have questions regarding potential treatment of invasive parrot feather plant (myriophyllum aquaticum) in public access areas on Lake Chatuge Reservoir. TVA is continuing to conduct an environmental study exploring multiple options for control of parrot feather. Potential options include herbicide applications as well as stocking of grass carp (white amur). Herbicide applications provided by TVA would only be performed around public access areas using EPA-approved aquatic herbicides.
