Risk Manager
Corporate Career
Kyle Bianco is always wondering “what if.”
“We help manage uncertainty,” Bianco said of his team in TVA Enterprise Risk Management.
They think about different things that could impact TVA. Then, they think about the different ways TVA could respond to those issues, or how to avoid those risks entirely.
A Day in the Life
Bianco stays up-to-date on the latest industry news, global developments and other headlines.
“We try to be aware of things happening externally and how they could affect us internally,” he said. “We identify and prioritize risks and assess how they could impact our ability to serve our customers.”
The risk management team works with all areas of TVA to discuss potential risks and solutions. The goal is to reduce any impacts to TVA’s finances, operations, reputation or safety.
One example is severe weather.
Ice, for example, can impact TVA’s ability to generate electricity or cause transmission issues. Ice can also cause a lot of safety issues for workers.
Understanding all aspects of an unexpected evet helps ensure TVA has a plan to respond.
