Ackerman Combined Cycle Plant

Ackerman Combined Cycle Plant, located in Ackerman, Miss., was acquired on April 14, 2015, and is capable of producing 705 megawatts of electricity—enough to power more than 400,000 homes. The plant allows for greater transmission flexibility and improved reliability in the region.

Ackerman is an intermediate generation asset (between base load and peak load assets). This will be beneficial for operating in future environments with increased renewable resources, energy efficiency and changing customer energy demand and peak load needs.

The plant, built in 2007, is an efficient 2x1 configuration (two gas turbines and one steam turbine).

The plant has two Siemens gas turbines to one steam turbine, which allows for greater transmission flexibility and improved reliability for the region.
