
Caledonia Combined Cycle Plant
Caledonia Combined Cycle Plant is located on a 125-acre tract near the community of Steens, Miss., in Lowndes County, approximately 10 miles north of Columbus, Miss.
Caledonia consists of three separate and distinct one-on-one generating units, each consisting of a single combustion turbine driving a generator, a heat recovery steam generator and a steam turbine generator. Combined, these units can power more than 479,000 homes.
Caledonia was originally built by Cogentrix from 2002 to 2003, and went into commercial operation on May 30, 2003. TVA leased the facility starting in December 2007.
