Colbert Combustion Turbine Plant
Colbert Combustion Turbine Plant is located just north of Highway 72 in Tuscumbia, Ala. It sits on 1,354 acres on the south shore of Pickwick Landing Lake in Colbert County.
Colbert features eight simple-cycle combustion turbines that were commissioned in 1972, and three new combustion turbines that were commissioned in 2023. The plant can power more than 670,000 homes.
Colbert Combustion Turbine Plant was built on the same reservation as the retired Colbert Fossil Plant. The plant is named in honor of George Colbert, former chief of the Chickasaw Nation.
